Torchmate CAD module

We are pleased to announce the arrival of our new Windows based Torchmate CAD software module. This new program allows you to perform these and other operations within the same program:

     Importing shapes from AutoCad and other drawing programs for cutting
     Scanning drawn shapes and converting them to vector format for cutting
     Scaling shapes to the desired size
     Shape duplication and automatic nesting, including rotation & flipping
     Automatic insertion of lead-ins and lead-outs
     Automatic kerf compensation for both internal and external cuts
     Automatic control of torch travel direction for optimum cut cleanness
     Control of cut order (sequence)
     Works seamlessly with existing Torchmate Driver software.
     Works with any CNC system that will import dxf files.

The image at right shows shows a screen in which the shapes for a number of brackets were placed at random.

The plate looks pretty full, but look below to see how much wasted plate there would have been if we had cut the shapes like this.

This image shows the same shapes after automatic nesting to fit them into the smallest area possible. Note the savings of almost 50% of the plate area. The gap between the pieces and the border width are user definable.

The positioning of the nested shapes can be specified. Here, the upper left of the plate was selected. The Torchmate CAD module will quickly pay for itself in time savings from this feature alone.

The extreme mathematical computation that must be performed in carrying out operations such as nesting of complex shapes requires a fairly hefty Pentium computer (500 Mhz or better is desirable). The 2nd computer you use to run the machine need only be a basic Pentium.
