Duplicating shapes

To duplicate a shape a desired number of times in a certain pattern, highlight the shape and then select Layout/Array from the pull-down menu bar.  Here we have chosen a pattern of 6 horizontal copies and 4 vertical copies for a total of 24.  To create the copies, click on the OK button.

It is always best to make the tool path, delete the original shape, and then duplicate the tool path.  This eliminates the need for making individual tool paths for all duplicated shapes.

Note that the array feature lets you create holes or other shapes in a circular pattern of a prescribed diameter.  This is ideal for creating perfectly placed bolt holes when cutting flanges.
