| Overview of CAD Module |
| While shapes can be created in a number of ways, they usually must be modified to prepare them for cutting. Most drawing and CAD (computer assisted design) programs are not capable of making these modifications. These modifications include: Automatically closing unwanted gaps Scaling to the desired size Offsetting the cut to compensate for the gap made by the torch Creating lead-ins (and lead-outs) to prevent piercing blemishes Duplicating the desired no. of shapes in a variety of patterns Exact placement of shapes within shapes Automatically nesting shapes for maximum use of material Automatically (or manually) setting the cut sequence, or order Shapes can be created by drawing them within the software, importing them from AutoCad or a similar program, or converting scanned images. The above operations are then performed. When the shapes are ready for cutting they are passed along to the Torchmate Driver Module for execution.
