Creating shapes - scanned images

Scanned images may be imported into the CAD Module to be converted for cutting.  The images may either be black & white solid figures, as shown above, or outlines.

It is best to use the software that came with your scanner to scan the shape and save it as a Windows bitmap.  That way, you will have a copy of the bitmap after the CAD Module converts it into a dxf file.

The first step is to import the bitmap into the CAD Module.  Click on File from the pull-down menus.  Then select import.  In the import file box, select "Bitmap Files (bmp)" in the "Files of Type" window.

Locate the desired bitmap file, highlight it with your mouse, and click "Import".  An L-shaped cursor will appear on your screen.  Move the cursor to the area on the screen where you want to place the shape, and click your mouse.

Your imported bitmap will appear.  Note that it is not only the shape that is imported, but the white background behind the shape, as well.
