Setting the cut order

While the computer will automatically cut the interior parts of each shape before cutting the exterior shape, you will want to set the cut order for the complete shapes to minimize torch travel time while cutting.

To do this, select Layout/Start Sequence from the pull-down menu bar.  Click on the outline of the first shape you want to be cut.  A blue line will then be attached to your cursor.  Click on the outline of each shape in the order you want them to be cut.

As each shape is clicked on, the blue line will attach itself to the middle of the shape.  Continue until all shapes have been done, then click on the Selection, or Picker tool at the top of the drawing tool bar on the left of the screen.  This will complete the process.

You are now ready to export the file in dxf format for the Torchmate machine to cut.  All the processes explained here can be completed in a few minutes once the drill is committed to memory.

While the Torchmate CAD Module has many additional features and functions not covered here, we have reviewed all that are needed for the vast majority of your cutting.  The CAD Module comes with a 500 page hard copy instruction booklet that explains all operations in great detail.
