OXY-ACETYLENE OPTION KIT
Carbon steel over 1/2" thick can be more effectively cut using oxy-acetylene than it can with a plasma cutter.  This is because plasma produces a 4 to 5 degree bevel in the cut face that is not present in oxy-fuel cuts.  The thicker the material, the more noticeable the bevel.  Also, the speed advantage of plasma goes away when cutting 1/2" and above.
Customers wishing to use a 3 hose oxy-acetylene cutting outfit (available separately) with our CNC systems, need this option package to get up and running.  It includes our machine interface for oxy-acetylene, a solenoid valve, our CAD Module, extended motor cables, and a knob controlled machine torch holder.
Torch tip-to-work distance is less critical in oxy-fuel cutting than with plasma, since the torch is much farther from the work.  An automatic torch height control is generally not needed.
Remember that non-ferrous metals such as stainless steel and aluminum cannot be cut with oxy-fuel processes.
