with our finished Torchmate III machines and 4' x 4' Small Shop machine only, this accessory is available
for all of our kits as an option. It is customary to support the material being cut on vertically mounted steel slats. When one side of a slat becomes damaged over time, it can first be inverted, and ultimately replaced on an individual basis. Avoid support systems that use points, which are prone to cause parts to tip up when cut. The toughest part of fabricating a slat support system is making the large number of slat support brackets needed to hold the slats on either side of the table. We have solved this problem by laser-cutting slotted brackets that you can hang from the frame as shown for supporting material up to about 3/8" in thickness. For thicker material, you can mount the slotted on a separate support table. |
