ADVANCED PLASMA OPTION PACKAGE
    Our advanced plasma option package adds our arc voltage torch height control to the items included in our intermediate package.
    Unlike manual cutting, in which you drag the torch on the material being cut, machine cutting requires the torch tip to be kept at a precise distance from the work (about 3/32").
    Since it isn't possible to find a plate that is perfectly flat (or to perfectly level one if you could find it), the torch height must be constantly adjusted while you are cutting.  This is particularly true if you are cutting thin material that reacts to the heat the plasma process produces.
    With a regular knob controlled torch holder, you must follow the torch and tweak the knob every 30 seconds or so to maintain the correct tip-to-work distance.
 
Our arc voltage torch height control completely automates this height adjustment.  It monitors the voltage of the plasma arc, which varies with the distance of the torch tip from the work.  Continuous adjustments are made to keep the torch the correct distance from the work.
