Our Standard Torchmate kit
is our least expensive system. You fabricate the entire machine
with the components we supply, plus about $300 worth of raw steel you
purchase locally. Rather than using a bolt-on Y axis assembly, you fabricate the Y axis carriage. This involves welding supplied brackets to a locally purchased piece of 5" x 10" piece of hot roll plate you supply. Needle bearing cam followers bolted to the brackets grip the sides and edges of a piece of cold roll steel bar as shown at right. The finished Y axis is quite accurate, and far less expensive than a turn-key industrial linear motion assembly. Electronics & motors are identical to those supplied with Torchmate II kits. The Standard Torchmate is driven from one side. A dual drive kit option is available. |
