Arc Voltage Torch Height Control

It is virtually impossible to level a 4' x 8' plate to the extent that a torch can maintain a precise 1/8" distance from it over the entire surface.  Moreover, most metal plate is not perfectly flat to start with.

The problem is compounded when the metal is reacting to the heat produced by the torch.  The answer is a fully automatic torch height control unit.

Our arc voltage torch height control monitors the voltage of the plasma arc, which varies with the distance between the torch tip and the material being cut.  Continuous automatic adjustments are made to keep the correct tip-to-work distance.

Hypertherm Powermax 1000 and 1250 Plasma Cutters

A CNC cutting system is only as accurate as the plasma torch it guides.  Don't short-change yourself by using an inferior plasma cutter.

Hypertherm's Powermax 1000 and 1250 both use a pilot arc ignition system rather than a high frequency start, and are fully compatible both with your computer and our electronics.

Further, an arc voltage take-off is readily accessible on these plasma cutters, permitting you to use them with the above arc voltage torch height control.

Automated Z Axis for Routing of Wood, Plastic, and Soft Metals

One of the great advantages of the Torchmate III over other systems is its ability to perform operations requiring a vertical (Z) axis working in conjunction with the X and Y axes.

This lets you to do make signs, cut kitchen counter tops, drill precisely located holes, apply solder or adhesive, and perform an almost endless variety of other activities.

Our automated Z axis option includes a physical vertical axis with precision ways and a lead screw, a third motor, and BobCad 3-D software.

Since two of the three driver boards normally used in the driver console are being used to power the two X axis motors on micro-stepping electronics, a fourth driver board must be installed in the console to control the Z axis.  That means that this accessory must be ordered at the time you initially purchase a micro-stepping Torchmate system.

 NEW!!  Automatic Tube Cutting Attachment

The Torchmate tube cutting attachment enables you to perform complex operations on tubing ranging from 1" to 8" in diameter.  You can perform saddle cuts in the sides of tubing, fish mouth cuts on the ends, slots, holes of any shape,  artistic designs, lettering, and much more.

The unit features a powerful magnetic drive wheel for steel and a urethane drive wheel for aluminum or stainless steel.  An air nozzle blows a light stream of air through the tubing to carry away the smoke, and heat.

Two cradle assemblies are provided, with adjustable rollers to fit varying diameters.  The cradles can be clamped in place, or will fit in 3/16" wide slat support slots.

The Tube Cutting Attachment's motor cable is plugged into the Y (short) axis connection on the power supply.  The action of the tube turning in concert with the length- wise movement of the X axis produces any desired shape.  A library of shapes common to tubing work is included.
