IMPORTING IMAGES FROM OTHER PROGRAMS Return to tech. support page
Scanning & cutting shapes
Importing from another program
Scaling for kerf compensation
Changing the cut sequence
Setting the direction of cut
Duplicating and nesting shapes
Step 1 -

Create shape in your favorite CAD program.  Here, AutoCAD 14 has been used.

Export the image in dxf file format in a folder where you can find it later.

The dxf file can be imported into another program for scaling or other modification, or directly into Torchmate software for execution.

Step 2 -

Import the dxf file into the Torchmate software where it is automatically converted to G-code.

Note that when the shape is cut, the torch path is simulated on the screen in real time.  The dotted line represents rapid traverse moves.
